15. Monster with Rebecca Callard
Sam Clements is curating a fictional film festival. He'll accept almost anything, but the movie must not be longer than 90 minutes. This is the 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest podcast.
In episode 15, Sam is joined by actor and writer Rebecca Callard, co-star of Mackenzie Crook's Detectorists and well known for playing 'Arriety' in the BBC's adaptation of The Borrowers.
Rebecca has chosen Jennifer Kent's award-winng 2005 short film Monster (10 minutes), a precursor to her (longer than 90 minutes) feature debut, The Babadook (2014).
Sam and Rebecca discuss the short film's links to The Babadook, how Jennifer Kent successfully explores the mental health of Monster's protagonist and Rebecca's most famous voice over job, Greggs: More Than Meats The Pie.
You can watch Jennifer Kent's Monster on the director's Vimeo page.
We'll be back in a couple of weeks.
